Flying carpets to become a reality?

In a laboratory at Princeton University, graduate student Noah Jafferis has managed to create a mini “flying carpet” that’s driven by “ripple power” waves of electrical current, which in turn drives thin pockets or air from front to rear underneath, therefore allowing it to hover.

FIFA 12 has only just been released, but the price wars have already begun. Asda priced up the eagerly awaited football game at £35.99, but HMV swooped in and definitely stole the show by selling the game for £1.99 when you trade in your old copy of F1 2011.
Speed limit on the motorway to be raised to 80mph

The UK motorway speed limit is set to rise from 70mph to 80mph. Vehicles have advanced ridiculously since 1965 when the 70mph speed limit was introduced, cars are much safer and efficient. Philip Hammond, Transport Secretary believes the current limit is “out of date” and needs to rise “to get Britain moving”.
Spotify launches ‘Private Listening’ after complaints to Facebook integration

However, many users have complained they do not want everything they listen to being published to Facebook. Samsung’s battle of patents just got a little more serious with Microsoft also joining in on the squabble. In return for a cut of Samsung’s profits, Microsoft have agreed to share its patents, providing additional ammunition for Samsung.

Apple to stream iPhone event at London’s Covent Garden retail store

Now, it’s no suprise really that Apple seem to be making one hell of a big deal out of the iPhone event happening on 4th October, who wouldn’t?! So whilst the event is happening live at the Apple campus in Cupertino, it will be streamed live to the Covent Garden Apple Store in London as well.
