A range of new features are set to hit everyones Xbox 360s tomorrow, Tuesday 6th december; bringing new content streaming features as well as Kinect voice search.

The brand new update, arriving tomorrow, will enhance the user’s experience even more than it already currently does. The controller free motion gaming peripheral Kinect will be receiving an update in the form of Kinect voice search, a feature that will allow you to control a variety of features using just your voice.

“A new era in entertainment begins where all your entertainment is together in one place—your games, movies, TV shows, music and sports,” said Don Mattrick, president of the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft. “With this update, Xbox 360 system owners will experience Kinect voice control integrated with Bing search, making your TV and entertainment experiences more social and personal than ever.”

New features and future updates will include live and on-demand TV shows, movies, videos, sports, music and news.

The US will receive services such as ESPN, Hulu and Netflix, whilst UK customers will receive services from LOVEFILM, with 4OD, Demand 5, YouTube, Blinkbox, MSN and Vevo landing very soon.

According to reports, the BBC iPlayer service will arrive on Xbox 360 sometime in early 2012.

Looking at these new features and updates, will you be putting a brand new Xbox 360 and Kinect at the top of your Christmas list? Let us know in the comments below.

It’s fair to say that Battlefield 3 has done extremely well in terms of sales for the past few weeks, selling more than some games manage to in a lifetime. Having just topped the 8 million mark, what now?

EA’s brand new first person shooter Battlefield 3 has reached 8 million sales. Now this is considerably lower than competitor Modern Warfare 3, which managed to sell over 9 million copies in the first week alone, but still very impressive.

EA has also seen success recently with both FIFA 12 and Batman Arkham City, coming in at third and fourth place, respectively.

An apparent update to the Nintendo 3DS will be arriving just in time for Christmas. The new update is said to be bringing 3D-recording capabilties and access to Hulu, as well as many more features.

Nintendo are said to be releasing an updated model for the Nintendo 3DS, which is expected to be around December 8th.

The update will bring us 3D video-recording, access to on-demand TV and Film via Hulu, and increased functionality to the Mii Plaza.

The update was originally scheduled for a late November release, but this obviously didn’t happen. The software upgrade is also said to be in the final stages of testing.

Microsoft have announced that they’ll be refunding Xbox Live subscribers who were affected by the hackers, who are thought to have downloaded content that was then exchanged for real money.

Some users have reported that they’ve received emails from Microsoft stating that their accounts may have been compromised and should change their Xbox Live passwords.

After being revealed last week, people are still unsure how the scammers managed to get hold of customer’s personal information, billing information and gamertags.

Unlike rival Sony, who earlier this year were the subject of a long-running security problem which took down the PlayStation Network, this intrusion of the Xbox Live network is very minor in comparison.

A Microsoft spokesperson has said, “We take the security of the Xbox Live service seriously and work to improve it against evolving threats. Very occasionally, though, we are contacted by members regarding alleged unauthorised access to their accounts by outside individuals. We can confirm that only a small percentage of Xbox Live customers have been affected here in the UK.”

After a very bumpy road this past week it seems that Call of Duty Elite, the new subscription based service from Activision, is nearly 100 percent operational.

The service has unfortunately been suffering from server outages and faltering systems since launch, but the in depth stats tracker nwo has a ‘Green’ status, meaning it’s almost completely operational.

In the past few days, the operational level has increased to around 95 percent, but there are still a few issues with clain invites so a fully operational service is expected within the next week or so.

Have you had a chance to use the new subscription based extension? Let us know in the comments section below.

The PlayStation Move is relatively unknown, compared to the Microsoft Kinect, but with sales slowly catching up to the popular motion-sensing peripheral Sony could be in with a chance to out-perform the Kinect for the first time.

The PlayStation Move is relatively unknown, compared to the Microsoft Kinect, but with sales slowly catching up to the popular motion-sensing peripheral Sony could be in with a chance to out-perform the Kinect for the first time.

The Microsoft Kinect sold over 8 million units in the first three months of sales, but since then only 2 million more sales have been added to the record sheet. This means that with the PlayStation Move slowly creeping past the 9 million units mark, it could soon be the more popular motion-sensing peripheral on the market.

It’s fair to say that the PlayStation Move didn’t make as big a mark as Sony had hoped, but over the course of the year sales have steadily increased.

Sony better hope that Microsoft don’t unveil their Kinect enabled TVs any time soon, otherwise they’ll be right back at the start again.

Do you own the PlayStation Move? Let us know what you think of it in the comments section below.
