Back in November Apple announced the 27” iMac; however, since then, the fruit shop has experienced never ending problems with shipping the iMac on time. According to Apple themselves, it seems the ATI graphics cards are the underlying core of the problem.

The juice we’ve been told from our sources suggest that the 27” iMac uses either the fruity 4670 or 4850, based on the system specification. The actual problem we’ve been told are screens flickering and an obvious yellow hue. However, there has also been known breakages of the cards too.

The known problems have meant Apple’s techies are working hard to cut right down to the core of the problem. This has meant Apple has put a two-week hold on shipping any additional iMac.

In order to maximise sales revenue in the busy Christmas period, the big A is still accepting orders for the 27-inch version. However, according to official Apple retailers, they say it’s unlikely any order would arrive before the New Year.

The unfortunate user’s who already have a 27” version and who are experiencing the problem should keep their eyes peeled on Apple’s site. We expect in the following weeks for some bulletin to be posted on the site with a fix.
