With the Amazon Tablet being released tomorrow, many of wondered whether it will be called the plain and boring, “Amazon Tablet”, or whether Amazon will spice it up a bit. And believe me, they certainly have.
According to gadget blog TechCrunch, the iPad rival will be named the, “Amazon Kindle Fire”.
I’m not sure whether this title is supposed to be kind of ironic, given the fact that real books can be destroyed by fire but now their inside a Kindle…they can’t…??
I’m not too keen on the name, but then again, it’s about the hardware really.
The Amazon Kindle Fire will sport Android 3.0 Honeycomb on it’s 7-inch display as well as housing a 1.2GHz dual-core processor! Some impressive hardware here.
Thanks to the 1.2GHz dual-core processor, the Amazon Kindle Fire should give quite a few tablets a run for their money.
The US release date for the Kindle Fire is this November. There is yet to be a release date for the UK.
