Angry Birds 2 surpasses 20 million downloads

Gaming, News

We announced the release of Angry Birds 2 the other week, and it has since gone on to be downloaded over 20 million times!

The Rovio smash hit, which launched just over a week ago, was downloaded over 1 million times in the first 12 hours and then over 20 million within the first week. Quite a feat for a game that involves flinging birds at pigs…

It’s also reported that over 1.4 billion birds have been flung on Angry Birds 2, and users have also blasted through over 300 million levels. As well as these very impressive stats, the game itself has topped download charts in over 100 countries!

Rovio’s Chief commercial Officer, Alex Lambeek, has this to say:

While Angry Birds 2 is off to a great start around the world, including key markets in the Americas and Europe, in China we are gaining a new foothold and seeing remarkable fruits of our well-functioning partnership with Kunlun. A new generation of Chinese gamers are getting to know the angry feathered flock, and we see a bright future together with Kunlun, one of the Chinese game industry’s largest and most important players.

Have you downloaded Angry Birds 2 yet? If not, you can pick it up on the App Store for free.
