Apple has just confirmed that Siri, the hugely popular and world’s most advanced voice activated personal assistant, will not be coming to the iPhone 4 unfortunately.

Siri landed on the Apple iPhone 4S at launch back at the beginning of October and has been praised by many.

This news will most likely annoy all of the millions of people still using an iPhone 4. In recent weeks, news that iOS hackers porting Siri to the iPhone 4 successfully has surfaced and that once an iPhone 4S jailbreak has officially been released, we’ll all be able to enjoy that Siri goodness.

It was an Apple reporter that posted the announcement on his blog, which read:

“Engineering has provided the following feedback regarding this issue: Siri only works on iPhone 4S and we currently have no plans to support older devices.”

We used Siri the other week and we must say, although it seems like a gimmick, when you use it you realise how brilliant the technology behind Siri really is, so it’s a shame that it won’t be supported by the iPhone 4.
