Apple MacBook refresh on the way?
Rhys - June 30th, 2011 12:07 PM
New entry-level Apple MacBooks likely to be on the way soon.
It’s been 408 days since the last MacBook was released, double the average time Apple takes to refresh the MacBook. With stocks drying up all over the US, and Amazon UK now only having one remaining in stock, it seems very likely a new MacBook is on the cards.
The hardware refresh will probably come as Apple releases OSX Lion, which is announced to be sometime in July. Other hardware which may also be refreshed is the Mac Mini (which has also reached stock shortages), the MacBook Air and maybe the Mac Pro too.
Hardware changes we are predicting for the Apple MacBook are Intel Sandy Bridge processors and Thunderbolt. A price reduction has also been rumoured.
