Blue Nintendo Wii being released to mark London Olympics
Matt - October 12th, 2011 12:15 PM
With Nintendo already adding more colours to their 3DS range of products, a new colour has now arrived for the Nintendo Wii. But this time, it’s to mark the 2012 London Olympics.
The limited edition Wii is out on November 18th and is called the Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games limited-edition pack (it just rolls off your tongue doesn’t it…)
Inside the box, you’ll receive the game, a blue Wii, Wii Remote, nunchuck and some stickers. I’m not too sure who would actually want Nintendo Wii stickers. However, if they’re Mario and Sonic related, SIGN ME UP!
Unfortunately, the blue shade featured on this limited-edition Wii is not the same blue as Sonic, it’s more of a lighter blue.
The game will see both Sonic and Mario going head to head in horse-riding competitions and rowing in London’s Eton Dorney Olympic lake. I for one can’t wait to see people using their Wii remotes for horse-riding and rowing, what a sight that should be…
This announcements comes months before Nintendo’s new Wii U console is set to launch early next year. The Wii U will feature a tablet style controller that houses a separate screen.
Will you be purchasing the limited-edition Wii? Let us know in the comments below.
