Call of Duty 7: Black Ops Offers PC Gamers Dedicated Servers
Rhys - September 16th, 2010 12:50 PM
Treyarch, the developer for Call of Duty: Blacks Ops has confirmed dedicated server support will be back in the new COD 7. Hooray for Black Ops Mods and Admin Powers!
Activision has teamed up with GameServers.com to offer dedicated servers to PC Gamers. “We are extremely excited about this unprecedented relationship with Activision to offer dedicated servers exclusively for Black Ops,” said CEO of GameServers.
However, like most dedicated servers, they will come at a price. For an 18-player ranked server it will cost you £9.95 a month and unranked will cost 66p per player. You can get more details here.
This move towards dedicated servers will allow for user made mods, unranked matches and a better connection speed. Treyarch community manager, Josh Olin has also said, “If you rent a server, you have the ability to Kick, Ban, and Configure it the way you see fit”.
This decision for dedicated servers will bring back the PC Gaming nature that was lacking in COD:MW2.
