The world is becoming ever more reliant on technology. It’s easy to see why, especially when you consider that it continues to improve our lives in so many ways. Here are some of the most weird and wacky home gadgets out there:
3D wall panels
The general public are yet to become familiar with 3D wall panels. While they aren’t interactive in any way, they can certainly improve the atmosphere in otherwise dreary rooms.
Such features may make your home more attractive to potential buyers. Because they are reasonably easy and cheap to install, they will make a shrewd purchase, and if you’re looking to adopt a sell property fast mentality then they could quickly add value to your home. The beautiful light and shadow that these 3D wall panels create will give a nice futuristic look to shops, offices, restaurants and homes.
Well-known for forward-thinking ideas, Yanko Design first brought the see through TV to our attention back in 2011. This flat screen TV utilises a frameless glass surface and is invisible when not in use. While it is yet to catch on in mainstream terms, we reckon this will eventually become a favourite of those cursing the ‘black blot’ in an otherwise lovely room.
Self-cleaning door handle
This self-cleaning handle uses a UV light to sterilise itself when not in use. When the door is shut, the light comes on and its hand glows blue. When someone grabs the handle the UV lamp will turn itself off.
While still a concept, this door handle seems like a good way of making shared bathrooms a little cleaner. It’s still not an excuse to avoid washing your hands though!
Forget living rooms – say hello to the Living Tower! If you have a small studio flat, this is certainly a novel way to make better use of – and be tidier within – a limited space. Designed in 1969 by Verner Panton, the Living Tower never really caught on. Despite this, people who have used it say that it is much more comfortable than it looks.
For those who complain that they don’t have the time to exercise due to work commitments no longer have an excuse! The treadmill desk is pretty self-explanatory, but some would say not at all practical.
Do you find that you’re always running late and that you never have time to make that much needed coffee in the morning? If so, the self-stirring mug could be the answer. To shave some precious seconds off your morning run, all you have to do is press a button and the mug does some of the work for you.
