The latest addition to the HX series of professional PSUs, known as the HX650W has been unleashed by Corsair. This also hints at the older model, the HX620W being discontinued.

The HX650W will come equipped with a single +12V rail thats dishes out 52 Amps of power. ATX12V 2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 standards will also be on the features list. Due to an efficiency of 85 percent the PSU has been awarded the 80Plus Bronze certification.

The PSU is aimed at people running high-end Lynnfield systems and the HX650W should be more than adequate providing you’re not using quad SLI or CrossfireX.

The HX650W comes with four PCI-Express 6+2 pin connectors, nine SATA and eight 4-pin peripheral as well as two 4-pin floppy connectors.

It can currently be found for around £90 GBP.
