    Drunken behaviour at Microsoft UK

    Rhys - September 1st, 2011 1:09 PM

You’re not at university anymore.

Drunken behaviour and ladish behaviour is certainly not something we would expect to find at the UK offices of Microsoft, but according to the Telegraph and court papers, it might just be true.

The story starts from Simon Negus who has counter sued Microsoft calling the culture in the offices “sick”. Negus was dismissed by the company after alledgedly kissing a colleague, although it is believed that he was involved with a “pattern of secual misconduct” and “harassment” towards female employees, which the married man denies.

In a sales conference court papers say, “The alcohol made freely available in unlimited quantities included neat vodka which could be drunk from an ice fountain, and a very strong German liquor called Jagermeister,” and that “drunkenness and misbehaviour were rife”.

One account includes a director who was so “ridiculously drunk” that he followed a female manager into the ladies’ toilets. Another instance says an executive was “so p***** he could not remember a thing”.

A spokesman from Microsoft has said it would be “inappropriate to comment”.
