In Marseille, France a teenager suffered an eye injury when his girlfriend’s iPhone exploded. The news comes a few weeks after an iPod touch exploded here in England.

The teenager’s mother contacted Apple about the incident and said that the phone began making a hissing noise and the screen suddenly broke, sending pieces flying into the air.

"My son was frightened but he did not lose an eye," Kolega told AFP – a French news site.

The latest saga in exploding Apple products happened in the Aix-en-Provence in southern France, it occurred a couple of weeks after an 11-year-old girl’s iPod exploded.

The incident caused controversy here in England when Apple offered to refund the 11-year-old girl’s money, but on the condition that the family sign a confidentiality agreement.
