The most popular social network in the world, Facebook, who originally had a 160 character limit on status updates, have now upped the current 5,000 limit to a staggering 63,206.
We’re unsure why the number is so specific instead of just 60,000, but we’re sure it’s got some sort of significance to the site.
To put that number into perspective, a novel has roughly 500,000 characters which means that you could post an entire book on your Facebook status’ in just nine posts!
Facebook are yet to confirm the reasons for the increase, but the new updated limit is still lagging behind the Google+ character limit, which is set at 100,000.
Who would actually be willing to sit in front of a computer screen long enough to even read one status update that used the entire 63,206 limit? Would you? Let us know in the comments section below.
