Expect a patch for Firefox 3.5 in the next few weeks, Firefox 3.5.1, which Mozilla intends to release in July and will include fixes for at least three bugs and "topcrashes," which is what Mozilla calls it most frequently reported crashes.

"[The] goal of this release should be a quick turnaround that fixes topcrashes and bugs we almost held ship for,"

One of these ‘topcrashes’ going to be fixed  involves TraceMonkey, the new, faster JavaScript engine that debuted in Firefox 3.5. Tracemonkey already caused the browser to be delayed by 6 months because of the large number of bugs they found in this new JavaScript engine.

Firefox 3.5 racked up over 5 million downloads in its first 24 hours, however its last big lauch, Firefox 3.0 recieved over 7 million downloads in its first 24 hours. To check the current number of downloads of Firefox 3.5 head over to Mozilla’s download tracker at http://downloadstats.mozilla.com/

When 3.5 was released, it is reported that Mozilla’s servers experience downtime because of the large volume of downloads.

Mozilla Firefox 3.5 is available now for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X operating systems as a free download from http://www.getfirefox.com. It is also available in more than 70 languages at: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html.

When the update is released and you already have Firefox 3.5, simply press ‘Help’ in your browser and select ‘Check for Updates’.
