GAME puts itself up for sale in attempt to save company from administration

News, Tech

According to UK newspaper the Sunday Times, Game Group have put themselves up for sale. The drastic move has been taken in an attempt to save around 10,000 employees, and to also stop the company from going into administration.

Reports are also saying that Game’s shares have dropped to around the 1p mark, which is miles less than the 300p per share that Game was worth back in 2008.

Only recently we saw the crazy price drops that were happening in-store such as Xbox 360 titles being sold for as little as £2.98, whilst a PS3 and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations package was being sold for £99.98.

We reported last week that Game bosses were unsure whether the store would last until the end of the year, however if things carry on as they are they’ll be closing much sooner than originally thought.
