Geohot, or Geohotz, the guy partly responsible for hacking Sony Playstations 3 and jailbreaking the iPhone has landed a job at Facebook.

Mr Hotz not long ago accepted a hack request to ‘jailbreak the ipad 2′. However, he has since declined it due to prioritising his move to Facebook.

It seems this is a new trend for hackers. Whereas in earlier days they would simply have been punished, companies are now employing known cyber-criminals in hope of changing ‘evil to genius’.

We’re not clear what he’s currently working on at Faebook, but rumour has it that he’s involved with ‘Project Spartan’. Facebook’s HTML5 platform to take on the Apple App Store.

Whats your thoughts on this? Many have said they are slightly worried about the PS3 hacker now having access to their Facebook data… I mean it’s not as if its personal is it?
