Gmail, Google’s leading email client, has been pulled from the Apple App Store just hours after release following a huge outcry from unhappy users.
The eagerly awaited official Gmail app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch unfortunately didn’t deliver after many users complained that the app was buggy and unusable.
“Unfortunately, it contained a bug which broke notifications and caused users to see an error message when first opening the app,” an official Google spokesperson said.
“We’ve removed the app while we correct the problem, and we’re working to bring you a new version soon. Everyone who’s already installed the app can continue to use it.”
Anyone who downloaded the app, before it was pulled, can still use the somewhat buggy and unusable application, however further downloads have been halted until the bugs and problems have been ironed out.
