According to a recent report, by StatCounter, the browser wars are still very much alive with Google Chrome now moving ahead of Mozilla Firefox.

Google Chrome now has a 25.7% share in the market, whereas Firefox currently has 25.2%.

The current leader, with a 40.6% share of the market, is Internet Explorer.

Aodhan Cullen, chief executive of StatCounter, recently said, “We can look forward to a fascinating battle between Microsoft and Google as the pace of growth of Chrome suggests that it will become a real rival to Internet Explorer globally.”

The only reason I can think of as to why Internet Explorer in the leader in the browser wars, as a web developer, is because Internet Explorer is the browser everyone has known and used by default since they bought their computers.

It’s a known fact that Internet Explorer is the bane of every web developer’s life! It doesn’t adhere to current standards and is a nightmare to develop for.
