Google have now admitted that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus volume bug is very real and they are aware of it, in a recent statement.

The statement from Samsung states that they’ll update devices as soon as possible.

This is definitely some good news for the Galaxy Nexus owners who have had to suffer the volume bug, in which the Android Ice Cream Sandwich-powered device would drop the volume without notification, causing calls to lose sound or miss text notifications.

It appears that the bug only affects devices using the 900MGz 2G frequency, which is only used by O2 and Vodafone, so only devices that use those networks (or networks that piggyback both O2′s and Vodafone’s network) might experience the automatic dropping of volume.

Nexus owners who are with networks such as Orange, T-Mobile or Three will not experience this problem because these networks only use the 1.8GHz or 2.1GHz 2G frequencies.

Are you a Galaxy Nexus owner? Have you experienced the volume bug? Let us know in the comments below.
