According to German users, the Ice Cream Sandwich update has started be rolled out by HTC, with many seeing the update available on both the Sensation and Sensation XE. This news has prompted many to presume that the update isn’t too far away from hitting the UK.
In a statement from a HTC spokesperson, they confirmed that the Ice Cream Sandwich update has begun rolling out on a few mobile devices, in some EU countries, but couldn’t confirm any specific schedules.
With HTC rolling out the updates, tablet manufacturer Archos have also been rolling out the ICS update, with their G9 tablet receiving Ice Cream Sandwich last Thursday.
Archos apparently said that they wanted a “smooth transition over to Android 4.0″.
“We worked closely with Google for full certification and took our time in testing the units to ensure this happened.”
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich brings a whole range of new features to Android devices including Android Beam, Facial recognition unlocking software and inproved multi-tasking, as well as a few other features.
