To ensure most users can afford and are willing enough to purchase Windows 7 rather than trying to get hold of a pirated copy, Microsoft is revealing many tempting deals. For instance, households with 1 – 3 computers can purchase a ‘Family Pack’ which includes Windows 7 licenses for three computers. Users with ‘Starter Editions’ of Windows 7 can affordably upgrade to a more complex and featured version for little money.

The Windows 7 Family Pack is due for release on the 22nd October. It allows for up to three systems to be installed with Windows 7 Home premium for only a total price of $150, which works out at $50 per license – the price advertised in the ‘Pre-Order’ program. Therefore, the total saving if you take part in this scheme is $200; the only limitation is that you have to purchase the three licenses in order for the discount.

Also revealed is the pricing for the ‘Anytime Upgrade’ program, which is being offered in: Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the US. Users wishing to upgrade from Windows 7 Starter Edition to Home Premium will cost them only $79.99, from Home Premium to Professional will cost them $89.99 and from Home Premium to Ultimate will cost them $139.99. Microsoft hopes that these low prices will convince users that upgrading to Windows 7 or upgrading from their base installation of Windows 7 to a more advanced version is worthwhile.

These deals sound very promising and should mean more users move to the Windows 7 platform genuinely with no regrets for what is a very good operating system.
