Trusted partners of Intel have been told that Intel is planning to release the Core i7 mobile versions of the Lynnfield quad-core CPUs at IDF, which is scheduled to being on the 23rd of September. From what we’ve heard so far, Intel are planning on releasing the three CPUs on the first day of the show.
The cheapest of these three CPUs – the Core i7 720QM features 6MB of cache and each core is clocked at 1.6GHz. Expect it to set you back $364. The Core i7 820QM runs at 1.73GHz and costs $546.
However the most expensive of the three, the Core i7 Extreme Edition 920XM, clocked at 2GHz and featuring four cores and eight threads, is currently priced at $1,054, which will put it out of the reach of most users.
We also expect Intel to launch their dual core Arrandales in Q1 of 2010.
