New Slim Nintendo Wii ‘Family Edition’ coming for Christmas

Gaming, News

Ready for the Christmas rush Nintendo will be releasing the Nintendo Wii ‘Family Edition’, a slimmed down version of the original Wii console.

The new streamlined ‘Family Edition’ package will include a slimmer white horizontally sitting console, a Wii Remote Plus controller, nunchuk sub-controller and a copy of Wii Sports and Wii Party.

With the Nintendo Wii U release scheduled for 2012, this will be the last revamp of this highly successful console. The new console also says farewell to the life of Gamecube game and accessory compatibility.

Nintendo haven’t announced anything on the pricing of the new “streamlined” console, but it will be on sale before the busy Christmas period (September to November).
