TweetRecent studies show that over half of American homes own at least one Apple product, with 9 per cent of those saying they own five Apple branded products.
The report was carried out by CNBC, who uncovered that more than 55 million homes in the US featured at least one of the fruit-based company designed products. This number, which is just a few million shy of the total number of people in the UK, actually makes quite a lot of sense seen as though Apple are now the world’s largest company, so they’re bound to have some sort of impact on our everyday lives.
It’s suprising that 49% of US homes don’t own a single Apple product at all, you’d have thought there would be at least an iPod Classic or iPod Touch lying around, but apparently not.
Jay Campbell, who is the Vice President of Hart Research Associates (the company behind the recent figures), said:
“It’s a fantastic business model — the more of our products you own, the more likely you are to buy more. Planned obsolescence has always been a part of the technology industries sales model, but Apple has taken it to a whole new level.”
Jay Campbell’s statement appears to be fairly accurate as well, with 12 percent claiming they own two Apple products, 13 percent claiming to own three or four Apple devices whilst a further 9 percent revealed that they own five Apple products.
Are you in the 9 percent who own five Apple products? Perhaps you own more? Let us know in the comments below.
