Siri under fire by pro-choice activists

The latest kid on the block, Siri, has been subject to some abuse recently. The latest comes in the form of what Siri’s views are on abortion. (I know, this news keeps getting more and more ridiculous by the hour…)
Apple has defended certain claims that Siri, the voice-activated personal assistant included on the iPhone 4S, is anti-abortion.
The software is still in its beta phase so it’s obviously not capable of knowing how to handle every sort of situated. This isn’t Skynet we’re dealing with (yet), it’s Apple.
Pro-choice activists, yesterday, suggested that the system’s lack of knowledge regarding the location of abortion clinics showed that the software was bias on Apple’s part about how ethical pre-birth termination is.
“Our customers want to use Siri to find out all types of information, and while it can find a lot, it doesn’t always find what you want,” said Natalie Kerris, an official Apple spokesperson.
“These are not intentional omissions meant to offend anyone, it simply means that as we bring Siri from beta to a final product, we find places where we can do better and we will in the coming weeks.”
What do you make of this? Are Apple trying to brainwash the world or is Siri just in its early stages of development? (Hmm, hard choice) Let us know in the comments section below.
