The Sony Nozomi could well be the survival card for Sony who has had a very tough year so far with a $3.1 billion loss forecast and the huge failure of the PSN Network. Unofficial details leaked from a tipster who is believed to be a Sony Ericsson insider suggest that the Nozomi may be a difficult contender for even the Apple iPhone 5.

The source told Xperia Blog that the new phone will sport a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, a 32GB hard drive, a 1750mAh battery and a massive 4.3 inch 1280 x 720 HD resolution – a resolution similar to most netbooks! This means the pixel density would total 342 PPI, far better than the iPhone at 326 PPI with a 960x 640 resolution.

The Sony Nozomi is believed to be scheduled for release in March 2012, already putting it behind with reports of HD phones coming later this year.
