Virgin Galactic have announced that its first passenger flights will not occur before 2013, leading to speculation that flights could begin in 2013 sometime.
The space tourism venture, set up by Sir Richard Branson, are hoping that they’ll be ready to launch in two years time. This date is not fixed though.
Sir Richard Branson had originally hoped for a take-off back in 2007.
Steven Attenborough, the firm’s commercial director, has said that its customers’ safety is paramount.
Test flights are also currently underway, with rocket-powered tests to hopefully begin next year.
With tickets costing $200,000 (£127,000), what are your thoughts on this experience provided by Virgin Galactic? Let us know in the comments section below.
