Planning and preparations are now in place for the movie about the late Apple founder Steve Jobs. The movie, once completed, will probably be one of the highest grossing movies of all time.
Most of you should have seen The Social Network by now, the somewhat slightly exaggerated movie about Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. What you probably don’t know is who wrote the script for it, well that’s who we’re interested in today.
Aaron Sorkin, The Social Network script writer, has landed the opportunity to write the tech-world’s most sought after script, writing the Steve Jobs movie.
He was contacted by Sony, who bought the rights to Steve Jobs official autobiography for a rumoured $1 million, and it’s probably fair to say that he’s taking some time out to consider the extraordinary offer being handed to him.
Sorkin was interviewed by E! Online and told them, “Sony has asked me to write the movie and it’s something I’m strongly considering. Right now I’m just in the thinking-about-it stages. It’s a really big movie and it’s going to be a great movie no matter who writes it.”
“He was a great entrepreneur, he was a great artist, a great thinker. He’s probably inspired [my 11-year-old daughter] Roxy more than he’s inspired me … she plays with all his toys.”
There’s still not a definite decision regarding who will play Steve Jobs in the film, but the front-runners are George Cloony and Noah Wyle.
