Western Digital gets 2TB drive ready
Rhys - August 11th, 2009 11:34 AM
Western Digital is the second manufacturer on the market to launch a 7200RPM 2TB drive.
Following on from Hitachi who has just launched their 2TB hard drive, Western Digital should start shipping the RE3 fairly soon. If your not familiar with the RE3, it’s a RAID version of a SATA II hard drive and compliments 32MB of cache and an 8.7mb seek time.
If you Froogle the designation code for the hard drive (WD2002FBYS), you’ll find stores pricing it at just over €260.
