Online retailer Amazon have recently purchased voice-to-text recognition company Yap, in what looks like an attempt to take on Apple’s latest product, Siri.
The reports come from local media in Charlotte, Illinois in the US after a filing suggested that Amazon had purchased Yap, a start-up company specialising in voice-to-text recognition technologies.
The deal is yet to be confirmed, but a buyout of Yap would enable Amazon to take on the likes of both Google and Apple.
