Antec Signature 650W Power Supply Unit (PSU)

The Signature 650W is a standard sized PSU – 18cm in length. Although it doesn’t look particularly attractive; its finish is superb. The dark grey matt paint it completely flat and very square; unlike cheaper units with horrible ‘orange peel’ finishes. As it’s a matt finish, it’s not particularly reflective.

On the left side of the Antec is the norm – a power specifications sticker. Some obvious warnings and various logos are also located on this sticker.

The right side is completely bare and has nothing at all. However, this side will not be visible when mounted inside your chassis, so doesn’t need to look particularly attractive.

With the Signature 650W, Antec seem to have moved back to the old method of PSU cooling – an 80mm on the back. Many other manufacturers have ditched the 80mm for a 120mm central fan and honey comb mesh at the back. As the 80mm in this power supply is PWM controlled, it should remain quiet anyway – so shouldn’t be a problem.

The topside of the power supply has an Antec emblem – this looks particularly classy. Also there’s a warranty sticker, remove or break this and you’ve voided your warranty.

Alike the right side, the underside of the Power Supply is pretty much bare, thus very bland.

From the back of the Antec Signature you should see that it’s partially modular. Also, for hot air to be drawn out the rear of the PSU, the design of the back includes a grill for air to flow through.
