Stability
As you can see, the 3.3V and 5V rails are extremely tight with them being extremely close to their rated values. However, the 12V rail is a little off with it being over 0.1V off rated. Compared to other PSU’s this isn’t anything to worry about however. When comparing idle to load voltages, they hardly change at all – suggesting the Signature 650W to be very stable.
Efficiency
| Watt Standby | Watt Idle | Watt Load | PF Standby | PF Idle | PF Load |
| 7 | 94 | 139 | 16 | 84 | 91 |
Antec’s Signature 650W did very well in terms of power factor, it’s unusual for a power supply to top a Power Factor scoring of 91 in load tests.
As for the amount of watts used, the idle, load and standby tests were very reasonable. The amounts shown are within the average for my system.
Noise
The PWM technology used in this PSU was definitely a good choice. My prediction on the power supplies cooling (80mm fan) being much noisier than competitor 120mm fan PSU models was entirely wrong. This unit has got to be the quietest I’ve ever tested.
Cost
For a 650W power supply the Antec Signature is one of the priciest. However, the quality and performance of the unit positively reflects this.
