It looks like the extra modular PCI-E cable is a x6, not a x8. The red plug (which is a x8) appears to plug into the red modular port on the PSU. The other end with the black plug is a x6 connector only…

You should of tested on a Core i7 platform.
A friend of mine has a lot of noise coming out of his system on a i7 system.
And after checking on other forums this appears to be a wide spread problem when using it on i7 it has a lot of noise issues.
