Antec TruePower Quattro 1000 Watt

The TruePower Quattro 1000W is similarly designed to the 850W model. This style looks very much like one from a racing car with its boy racer racing stripes. Any motor fans out there will surely love this theme.

Taking a closer look at the paint job on the power supply reveals the background to be a flat matt black whilst the stripes and ‘1000’ lettering to be very glossy – this contrasts very well indeed.

On the right side of the Antec is the power specifications sticker which is stuck centrally. This side of the PSU is what you’d see when mounted in your case; unless you obviously mount it upside down. As you can see, there’s no 120mm fan mounted atop the unit. I guess the reasoning for this is the racing stripes.

At the front of the power supply you’ll find an 80mm fan and the norm – power switch and ‘kettle type’ socket. Hopefully this 80mm fan goes against its common stereotype: noisy.

Moving to the rear of the TruePower 1000W you’ll find five cables and five modular sockets. The modular sockets are colour coded to the modular cables – red for PCI-E and black for SATA and Molex. On the underside of each modular socket is a label which also informs the user of the socket usage. Antec are obviously concerned about users sticking the wrong cables in the wrong sockets.

Laptop technology has advanced greatly over the years with different releases of more powerful and compact systems constantly replacing the top notebooks of the year before. However, improving the performance of laptops usually has the knock on effect of producing more heat and so users will commonly seek advice in order to better cool their laptop. An often used approach to this problem is a Laptop Cooler.

However, most laptop coolers do more than simply draw hot air from your system. Many laptop coolers also have become a key feature in making the experience of using a portable machine at a desk more comfortable overall. Many of you wouldn’t have heard of Zaward before and don’t feel disheartened if you’re one, they’re a fairly new company specializing in specifically computer cooling. One of the most innovative products in their catalogue is what’s called the ‘Golf Fan II’.
