Cables and Connectors
All the cables on the Antec TruePower Quattro 1000 watt are braided in black and utilize black connectors – except the PSU end of the modular PCI-E cables. Instead of heat shrinking the ends of the braiding – like many manufacturers do – Antec have devised some sort of black plastic tubing which tightly seals the braiding. This method is much more secure than heat shrink and so the braiding will not come loose.
Fixed Cables and Connectors
In terms of fixed connectors there are the following:
- 1x 20/24 Pin ATX
- 1x 8 Pin EPS
- 1x 4 Pin CPU
- 2x 6/8 Pin PCI-E
Modular Cables and Connectors
There are three Molex cables altogether. Two of these entail three Molex connectors and a floppy connector; the other one just includes three Molex.
As for SATA, there are also three cables. On one of the cables there are just two SATA connectors whilst on the other two there are three connectors.
For users who need more than two PCI-E connectors, there are two modular cables which are both of the 6 pin connector variety. Users who need the 8 pin connectors will need to use the cables that are fixed to the power supply.
