Conclusion
The Antec Quattro 1000W certainly looks the part. Its racing stripes really represent the amount of power that exists beneath the hood. And that power is a lot, 1000W in fact, that’s enough to power anybody’s rig – bearing in mind that they’re sane. Moreover, this power doesn’t come at a price. At just £159, this is an outstanding price for a unit of this wattage.
However, this price reflects upon the performance. It didn’t perform as well as some of the other power supplies with it performing relatively lowly in both efficiency and stability tests. It did perform relatively well in noise tests though – so it’s not all bad.
In the end of the day, once you go over the 1000W mark, stability and efficiency completely goes to pot in most instances.
So if you’re after a high wattage PSU and really aren’t too concerned about efficiency or stability, the Quattro 1000 Watt is a good choice. It boasts great aesthetics, noise levels, cable management and not to mention, price.
