The Package
Green and Black are two colours which are fairly negative, so it seems weird that Coolage has decided to pack their much anticipated X120 Transform in such an ugly coloured box. But as ugly as it is, it’s also very informative. From top to bottom and from side to side, you’ll find all the information you require.
One of the biggest selling points for the Coolage 120TF heat sink is the unique ‘Wind Tunnel Heat Sink Technology’. Sounds complicated doesn’t it? But really it’s not; it basically entails shaping the fins slightly so they result in many honeycomb shapes in the heat sink. This is suppose to result in quicker heat loss and reduced noise – something that nearly all CPU Coolers boast to do. The transparent section on the front of the box allows you to get a glimpse of these fins.
Moving to the rear of the box you’ll find specifications, a diagram of the components included (misspelled as ‘Componets’) and a list of precautions which surely make for some humorous reading. As per usual, the classic precautions of ‘Do not ingest the Thermal Compound’ and ‘Avoid inserting objects into the fan’ are listed.
Accessories
As the Coolage 120 Transform is compatible with AMD, LGA775 and LGA1366 CPU’s, there are a number of accessories included for different mountings.
You will find:
- S775 Backplate
- S1366 Backplate
- AMD ‘Hook and Clip’ Mounting Arm
- S775 Mounting Clip with 4 Screws
- S1366 Mounting Clip with 4 Screws
There are also some other unique accessories included:
- Coolage Polar Bear Key-ring
- 2g Syringe of Coolage CA-TC3 Thermal Compound
- Spatula for spreading paste
- User’s Manual which is completely useless unless you can read Korean.
Although the user’s manual is in Korean only, it features many diagrams so you’re still able to partially follow it.
