Stability

From the rail voltages, the 12v rail performed the 4th best, the 5v 5th/6th and the 3.3v 3rd. These results are quite impressive considering this is a much higher wattage PSU and so the rail voltages would drop more with higher wattage withdrawal.
The voltage fluctuation was very minor too. The 3.3V rail didn’t change at all whilst the 5v and 12v rails change by just 0.01 volt. This indicated great stability.
Efficiency
| PF Standby | PF Idle | PF Load | Watts Standby | Watts Idle | Watts Load | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Signature 650W | 16 | 84 | 91 | 7 | 94 | 139 |
| Commander 850W | 24 | 77 | 85 | 9 | 98 | 142 |
| RX-8500 850W | 20 | 70 | 81 | 6 | 96 | 142 |
| Turbo Cool 860W | 19 | 80 | 86 | 9 | 100 | 143 |
| M12D 850W | 43 | 87 | 91 | 8 | 94 | 137 |
| Revolution85+ 950W | 25 | 90 | 94 | 9 | 97 | 140 |
As for efficiency, the Revolution 85+ performed the best scoring a whopping 94 in load tests and a considerably high 90 at load. The Seasonic got one over in the standby tests however.
In terms of wattage usage, the Revolution came in at 3rd/4th altogether. This is quite surprising because the efficiency proved to be very good and so the only reason for the wattage would be the rails which aren’t as tight as the Seasonic’s. However, this is still a good score.
Noise
In terms of noise, this power supply is definitely the quietest out of all the ones reviewed so far. The fan runs by itself for about a minute after shut down to extract any trapped hot air. This isn’t a concern though, you won’t even realised the fan is spinning; the Enermax Revolution85+ is dead silent.
Cost
The Enermax Revolution 950W retails for a whopping £194. If you’re after the best performance a PSU can give and looking for one which will last, I’m afraid this is the price you’re going to have to pay.
