Futuremark 3DMark 06

Using the trial version of 3DMark06 we benchmarked both the 4770 and 4850. Like most 3DMark benchmarks, 06 benchmarks the whole system – not just the graphics card – however, it also gives a SM2 and SM3 score as well as the futuremark score. The SM2 and SM3 scores are more specific to the graphics card as they represent the score given for the handling of HDR Rendering SM3.0 Shaders as well as SM2.0 Shaders.

*Please note that 3DMark 06 is a DirectX9 Benchmark, 3DMark Vantage (on the next page) is the DX10 one.

3dmark06 HIS ATI Radeon HD4770 Graphics Card Review

As you can see the 4770 performed better than the 4850 in 3DMark 06. This suggests that the 4770 is better at handling DX9 content than the 4850.
