The AMMO

The In Win Ammo's casing is constructed from 0.8mm Cold Steel with three grooves indented on both sides. Although Steel doesn’t have the same thermal properties as Aluminium, it’s much stronger. This allows the enclosure to take the odd knock and bump without shattering into pieces.

As you can see, the Ammo isn’t simply rectangular in shape; the front slants outwards slightly. This and the matt finish is In Win’s attempt at designing the enclosure in style of an ammunition cartridge. The front of the hard drive enclosure has a rubber section with the company name written across it. This rubber section’s purpose is not only promotion for In Win, but it’s actually quite useful when wanting to remove the hard drive tray from inside the enclosure, as it can be used to push the rubber tray out from the Steel casing.

The rear of the Ammo has another rubber section with the power jack, blue power LED and USB port hidden behind. To install and uninstall a hard drive, the two screws on this side need to be removed.
