Stability

In comparison to the Signature 650 (another very good PSU), we can clearly see from the load voltages that the Commander 850W is overall tighter to its rated voltages. On the idle voltages, both units perform similarly with no real winner.

From the efficiency test we can see that compared to the Signature 650, the Commander 850 isn’t doing a very good job of using up all the energy flowing through the wires. Therefore, the Commander is quite simply wasting energy. Unfortunately the wattage tests weren’t up to scratch either. 9 Watts at standby is one of the highest amounts of power being drawn from a PSU I’ve ever seen. The Idle and Load tests aren’t too bad though with them just being a few watts over the Signature.
Noise
Unfortunately the Commander 850W isn’t the quietest PSU I’ve heard. It’s slightly more audible than the stock Intel S775 Cooler, which isn’t too loud; certainly not silent however.
Cost
In the UK the 850W In Win Commander retails for a jaw breaking £120. This is definitely in the high end price band with competitors such as: Corsair, NorthQ and Silverstone.
