Conclusion

Ad-Aware Game Edition is a solid piece of software which fits its brief well, and would appeal to both gamers and normal computer users who are opposed to the intrusion and the bulk of most security software. As ever, Lavasoft have come right up to scratch with detection of malware, and despite the smaller shortcomings when it comes to actually dealing with these, as a product it does its job very well.

Good:

  • Light on system resources
  • ‘Do Not Disturb’ Mode very effective
  • Easy to use, but plenty of options for the advanced user

Bad:

  • Some recurring problems could benefit from a touch up (such as dealing
    with malicious files)
  • Lack of browser support on TrackSweep

Bottom Line: I’m very impressed with how well the software has performed, and for those who are constantly running full screen applications or simply heavy-usage programs such as photoshop, this could be a lifesaver. Some users have qualms about ever spending money on software, but in this case I am happy to say it would be a worthwhile investment. Don’t be too put off by the above negatives – the effects of these do not majorly affect usage, and maybe be resolved in a future update as well.

Thanks go to Lavasoft for supplying me with this review version.
