Conclusion

On the whole, the NZXT Whisper is a case that I am not totally certain about. Its bulky exterior and flimsy front panel don’t seem to match at all. This coupled with the garish blue light that is emitted upon power-up give the case an odd look that is especially off putting in the dark.

However, the main aims of the Whisper – cooling and noise – have been achieved. The foam linings definitely help dampen all vibrations and keep noise down. In this regard, NZXT have made a very fine attempt and this enclosure is certainly one of the quietest I have seen. Cooling too, is more than adequate and with the installation of a second intake fan could be even better.

For roughly £100, the NZXT Whisper is a good case. But, with any case it is personal opinion that determines your view. For some enthusiasts, the aesthetics I was not particularly thrilled with will be just their cup-of-tea and the same for other aspects of the case. Therefore, have a good look and I am sure this case will not disappoint those who take an interest.

Pros

  • Low noise levels
  • Easy installation
  • Innovation layout
  • Reasonable pricing

Cons

  • Way too many HDD mounts
  • Flimsy hinged front panel
  • Cooling needs improving
