Cables and Connectors

All the cables on the 700 Watt OCZ Fatal1ty are braided in red and come with red heat shrunk ends. To keep the braiding tight throughout the course of the cables, zip ties have been used at about every 20cm on each cable. The lengths of the cables are quite generous and so would easily route comfortably around a large ATX case.

OCZ have utilized a 20/24 pin type for the ATX connector in order for it to be backwards compatible.

As for the +12v CPU Connector, instead of individual 4 Pin and 8 Pin connectors, they’ve used a 4+4 pin connector. This is more preferable as it means one less cable to hide in your system.

To power your PCI-E cards, there are two 6/8 Pin PCI-Express connectors. Unlike all the other connectors, these have red connectors for easy identification and have also been labelled with a PCI Express tag.

There are two Molex cables each with four connectors on. One of the cables however also has a floppy connector.

Alike the Molex cables, there are two SATA lines with four connectors on each. As you can see from both the Molex and SATA cables, they have only been braided up to the first connector. I’m guessing the reasoning behind this is so they’re more flexible. However, many of us still like our whole cable braided.
