The Package

The box for the Megahalems is pretty basic and looks a bit rushed. A white etching of the product finds itself centre stage with the Prolimatech logo above and the compatible sockets listed below. Interestingly this heatsink is limited to just Intel motherboards – 775 and 1366.

With the sides containing the specifications and features, the back is very plain and simply directs you to their website if you require any more information. Well, at least you are safe in the knowledge that money hasn’t been wasted on over-exuberant packaging.

3 Prolimatech Megahalems CPU Cooler

As we have come to expect with CPU coolers, a host of accessories accompany this main product:

  • Socket 775 Backplate
  • Socket 1366 Backplate
  • 2 * Aluminium Strip Adapters
  • 4 * Double End Stud with Nut
  • 4* Screw Nuts
  • Aluminium Mounting Plate
  • 2 * Spring Loaded Screws
  • 2 * Fan Mounting Clip
  • 1* Thermal Compound

Interestingly there is no fan included with the heatsink, thus the user must purchase their own separately. Prolimatech suggest a fan speed of 800-1200RPM and with the NF-P12 at 1300RPM or 900 using the noise adapters, it seemed the perfect choice especially with its high static pressure allowing it to effectively push airflow through the fin stack.
