At stock speeds, the Prolimatech cooler is able to marginally edge out the NH-U12P SE1366 which believe me is no mean feat. However, as the Vcore voltage is ramped up in order to achieve the overclock, the Megahalems is not able to maintain its performance and finds itself giving slightly higher temperature readings than its rival.

Noise

The noise levels simply depend on which fan you choose to use in combination with the heatsink. As we know the NF-P12 is reasonably quiet but I would have liked to have seen some anti-vibration rubber strips or something just to stop any vibrations getting transferred to the heatsink and thus amplified.

Cost

At most stores the Megahalems comes in at a massive £60 which is a lot of money especially when you don’t even get a fan included…
