Conclusion

Looking solely at the performance aspects of the Prolimatech Megahalems, it is pretty impressive. At stock speeds it is able to edge out one of the most highly regarded coolers on the market and at overclocked speeds stay within a couple of degrees of it.

The cooler incorporates some interesting technology such as the dual fin stack arrays and the soldered joining methods and they combine to make a very impressive heatsink; a few tweaks such as offsetting the heatpipes could surely make this into an even better product.

However, only the heatsink is provided and so the user must also purchase a 120mm fan which adds to the costs and at £60 for just a heatsink we are getting into very expensive territory.

Bottom Line: If you’ve got the cash to splash this heatsink will provide you with some great results but in truth there are better, cheaper alternatives out there.
