Testing and Usage
Methodology
To test mouse pads we have a set of procedures which are carried out. These procedures involve factors which could greatly affect gaming ability. A mouse mat which performs well in all tests is seen to be a highly recommended product.
The testing procedures involve:
- Comfort
- Friction – does the pad slide about or not?
- Gaming – a selection of web based and ordinary PC games.
Results
N.B. We tested the QPAD CT with a Logitech MX 600 and using the ‘Glidz’ as our chosen mouse feet.
Comfort
Resting my hand and wrist on the QPAD CT is a very comfortable experience. The Hybratek coating is evidently working to the degree that it’s suppose to with the pad cushioning my hand and wrist. It’s obviously not as comfortable as an all-fabric mat; but it’s certainly very close to being so.
Friction
With two hands trying to force the QPAD to budge, I couldn’t get it to move and throughout testing it didn’t move at all.
Gaming
With the Glidz installed to my Logitech MX 600 my mouse glides effortlessly across the QPAD. Aiming at enemies in Battlefield 2 and pin pointing headshots was much easier than it had been when not using a mouse pad at all. Also, because of the effortless movements, my wrist did not hurt at all after a long gaming session. I’ll admit that this is the best mouse pad I have ever used in terms of accuracy.
