Results

For comparison purposes I’ve tested the Spire TherMax Pro alongside the Coolage Orb X120 and the Intel Stock Cooler. Halfway through the testing I realized that the uber Cooleage SX-2 fan which I decided to use on the Orb meant the temperatures achieved by the Orb X120 were beyond superior to the Spire and Intel’s – because of the sheer amount of airflow this such fan pushes out. For this reason I also decided to test the Orb X120 with a Noiseblocker Silent fan which performs more similarly to the one included with the TherMax Pro.

Results are shown using Delta-T – the temperature (Celsius) difference between the ambient temperature and the CPU temperature. Using this method of representation is much more accurate as it allows for the use of previous results where the ambient temperature may have been different.

results Spire TherMax Pro CPU Cooler Review

As you can see from the results, the Spire TherMax Pro performs mid-way between the Coolage Orb using the Noiseblocker fan and the Coolage using the SX-2 fan. For a CPU Cooler which uses a 9mm fan, the Spire has definitely performed impressively as the Coolage is one of our top performers.

Noise

In terms of noise the Spire outputs around the same level of whirring as the Intel reference CPU Cooler. This isn’t so loud that it’ll annoy; but it’s certainly not whisper silent like the combination of the Coolage Orb X120 and Noiseblocker BlackSilent Fan.
